No News is Not Always Good News.

Well, it’s been a week and no response from my last email to Laura Washington. I guess she’s not going to respond, and there’s no chance for Reasoned Discourseā„¢ with her. And I’ve heard nothing back from James Hupp as of yet, after two emails and another comment on his blog. I get the feeling he’s tied up in TSA hell after venting at an airline employee or six. It would be understandable. I’m hopeful this discussion will still occur, but that hope is beginning to wane.

Anyway, I’m back from my business trip, and I’ve got to get ready for Reno next weekend, but I’ve got to service my truck, load some ammo, and I’ll be working on Sunday trying to get caught up before I hit the road, so blogging will remain sparse.

I’d like to thank everybody who linked to my post on reloading. There were a lot of you. I had no idea that the subject would be so popular!

On the Road Again.

I’ll be on the road through Friday. Posting will be minimal, as will commenting on my part. Sorry. It looks like next week will be much the same. Hopefully Mr. Hupp and I will work out the logistics of our gun control discussion in the next few days, but I don’t expect it to start until this time next week at the earliest. Please, as a favor to me, don’t inundate him with a deluge of comments in the mean time. He already has a poor opinion of us, and I’m on record stating that sometimes we are our own worst enemies, even (sometimes) inadvertently.

Light Blogging.(but GREAT Comments!)

Today is the ninth day in a row that I’ve gone in to the office at 5:30AM. (Bear in mind, it’s about 35-40 minutes from my house to the office, and you can imagine what time I wake up in the morning.)

I’ve been keeping track of, and contributing to, the comment threads running here (thanks, Markadelphia!) but I’m a bit burned out in the evenings, so blogging has been and will continue to be light for a couple of days. Sorry.

Question:.

Reader Peet protests:

I have read your blog for a long time – been challanged and educated. But you have one MAJOR failing: As a dial-up user, I pray that, some day, you will learn something about image compression.

It is a minor problem for folks with fast connections, but it’ll be WEEKS before the huge images scroll off and I can read you again.

OK, how many of you out there are still on dial-up? I know loading the page can be slow, especially if Technorati or HaloScan are down, but should I start using thumbnails with links to the full-size image? You are the readership – I need to at least make the appearance that I’m trying to keep you happy!

The Munchkin Wrangler Gets Published!.

I hadn’t seen this reported on any of the other gun blogs, but Marko Kloos has had his essay Why the Gun is Civilization published in the September issue of Dillon Precision’s Blue Press – their monthly catalog/magazine.

Too cool! That piece made it around the blogosphere (often unattributed, occasionally misattributed.) He got credit, and the URL of his site is also given at the bottom of the article. Congratulations, Marko. You killed some trees!

Edited to add: Of course, I’ve had something to say on the topic myself, but it wouldn’t fit on a single 5×7″ page….

On the Road Again.

Out of town for a couple of days. Blogging will be light to non-existant.

(P.S.: Blogspot has started “word verification” security, apparently to prevent automated spam-bot blogging. The word for this post was “whmdj” – is that shorthand for “whamdijous”?)

Have You Made Your Reservations Yet?.

It’s coming sooner than you think.

Last year’s was a lot of fun.

You don’t want to miss this one.

Maybe you can carpool.

Or hitchhike.

Or catch a bus.

And remember: it’s where?

It’s fun for the whole family!

Well, kinda. Everything you need to know to get registered is at this link. You don’t have to be a gunblogger. You don’t even have to be a blogger. If you just want to get together with a bunch of people who believe in liberty and enjoy shooting, it’s the right place for you!

So what are you waiting for?

Hey! LabRat’s Finally Got a Blog!.

Perennial (and brilliant) commenter LabRat has opened her very own blog, Atomic Nerds. She shares it with “Stingray,” but that’s OK. Sometimes I wish I shared this blog. I expect great things, and without much surprise, she delivers right off with “Goddamn lazy hippies.

Life is good!
