From my previous post, the New York Times interviews a Leftist who believes we need to eliminate the Electoral College, pack the Supreme Court, and abolish the Senate to “Save Our Democracy!”
The NYT went even further in another op-ed, wistfully decrying the lack of a military coup:

The funny thing, to me, is they don’t seem to even realize what they are doing to themselves… They are so wrapped up in their utopian vision they think nothing they say will impact them.
No, they really don’t. I have lefty friends, and even when you point things out, ask “have you thought this through?” They truly have not. They refuse to.
They cannot even envision a world where straight white men got sick and tired of being shit on, went “nope, screw this” and went hard right. You can literally point out that their behaviors are turning everyone against them and they still won’t see it.
Kevin, I could not get more than a few paragraphs through that article. These people are completely unhinged from reality.
The fact that some California National Guard troops are reportedly disaffected with the ICE support mission they were given may well persuade the Trump administration to move more regular, active-duty troops into American cities.
First, define “some”. Are we talking 80%? 60%? (Probably not, or they’d have said “most”.) 20%? 5%? A scant handful of individuals out of the bunch?
Second, it’s the California National Guard. Being from California, it’s likely there’s a higher ratio of left-leaning servicemembers than, say, the Wyoming National Guard. (But still not “most”, or they’d have said.)
Despite what the authors seem to think, no citizen group — to include a military unit — is a political monoculture. Yes, there are Democrats in the military, and yes, there are servicemembers who voted for Kamala. But when given tasks by the Commander-in-Chief, they will usually set aside their differences to fulfill them, “disaffected” or not.
And that was just one of the many, many baseless assumptions the authors suffer under. One of the more harmless ones, at that.
