I Agree with Eric S. Raymond on 19 of his 20 Points

Eric has reposted his Top Ten Reasons I’m Neither a Liberal Nor a Conservative and I’m in full agreement with him on all 10 reasons he’s not Liberal, and 9 of the 10 of the reasons he’s not Conservative.

I disagree with this one:

9. Ronald Wilson Reagan. A B-movie actor who thought ketchup was a vegetable. His grip on reality was so dangerously weak that the Alzheimer’s made no perceptible difference. Conservatives worship him.

Ronald Reagan is the man most responsible for accelerating the demise of the Soviet Union without a war. His grasp of the reality of the evil of Communism was flawless. He had real problems (what President hasn’t?) but I honor him for that. I don’t “worship” him, but I don’t dismiss him either.

On every other point I am in complete agreement.
