I am heartened that in this piece, the promised opening chapter of an upcoming second book, he hits on numerous ideas that I have written about myself. The power of belief. The hardwired nature of the human psyche and the fact that we’ve not been at this Civilization thing all that long. The need for constant maintenance of said Civilization. The “forces of ignorance and barbarism.”
