  1. Isn’t it interesting that some of the people who most ardently support the United States as envisioned by the founders and the traditional American ideals of small government and self-governance speak with foreign accents?

A point I’ve raised many times and I believe you’ve expounded on yourself is: What makes one a true American has nothing to do with where they were born.

  2. I for one am intrigued by the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

[IANAL warning] Constitutionally, it’s an Executive-branch department, so their power is limited to Executive-branch agencies — they will have no power over the Legislative and Judicial branches — but I wonder what the scope and depth of their power and authority will be.

Will they have the power to eliminate government positions they deem unnecessary or harmful, and fire the people sitting in them?

Will they have the power to limit or eliminate budget line items for Executive departments and agencies?

Will they have the power and authority to cut task forces, inter-agency work-groups, and possibly even cabinet-level positions?

Or will they merely make recommendations to the President on the above?

And finally, will DOGE still exist after Trump is out of office, or will it be disbanded by the next Democrat or Establishment (Swamp) Republican who takes office?

It looks interesting, but I’ve seen enough good ideas get consumed by The Swamp to not let my hopes get too high.
