Picking My Jaw Up Off the Floor…

Via Instapundit (who doesn’t need another link) thus to Bill Hobbs, comes this astounding piece by Memphis Flyer journalist Jackson Baker. Baker was the entire (prime?) raison d’ĂȘtre for the blog Halfbakered, authored by one Mike Hollihan with the intent of exposing Jackson Baker’s bias and bad reporting, as Houlihan saw it. Hollihan apparently called it quits. Jackson Baker’s reaction? Read it yourself. It’s what I’d like to see from all journalists.

Oh, and as an update, apparently Mike has reconsidered. Good for you, Mike. The Pajamahadeen need you, too.

UPDATE: Mike informs me in a comment that, no, he hasn’t reconsidered. It’s over:

My last name is Hollihan; my blog is Half-Bakered, which the Flyer didn’t get right either. Baker was the source of the blog name, but not its whole purpose. Media criticism, the local papers and local politics were my big beats, along with whatever amused or amazed me, with a sprinkling of science. I haven’t reconsidered, I’m outta here. Thanks for the mention, though, even if it’s a month too late.

Damn. That’s too bad.
